I'm so proud to have been your friend, Lou. Your smile never failed to warm my heart. I can see it now, and that sparkle in your eyes, and I can hear that wonderful laugh of yours. You were always so kind to me and I'll never forget it. This is so sad, too sad for words. But I'll carry your memory with me, and I hope everyone who loved you will do the same. You went at life, as Bobby says, like a wee force of nature, with such courage, wisdom and spirit (and that smile!) And you kept on going at it, even when life was as cruel as it can ever be.
