Toucans and horror stories. They're among my oldest and fondest memories of Louise. Bob and I were both working for The Sun in London in the crazy days of Kelvin MacKenzie and my flat rental was coming to an end. They took me in like some unfortunate waif and for the next few months their home was my home. Louise pampered and fed me and the only payment she would accept was for me to paint their living room and buy her the odd toucan ornament, which she collected. In the spare bedroom where I resided was Louise's collection of Clive Barker books. So we talked about horror tales, about their time living in Australia. About anything and everything. She and Bob were devoted to each other then and, no matter how many years flew by, that never seemed to change. Theirs was a true love story. Rest in peace, Louise.
